The Touring Car Trophy (TCT) has been established to bridge a gap between many existing one-make race series and the BTCC.
The BTCC is seen as the pinnacle of saloon car racing and many drivers aspire to reach that level. However, only a select few will ever reach the grid and with extremely high team budgets compared to single make championships, most drivers won’t get there.
The TCT allows drivers with club level budgets to race in a wide range of eligible cars which otherwise may not be used. This includes many 2.0 turbo cars, Next Generation Touring Cars (NGTCs), GPRM spec cars, TCR series spec cars and Super 2000 cars.
With the likelihood of a wide range of different cars, the series will be exciting to both take part in and to spectate.
Any drivers looking for the Touring car action without the enormous cost of BTCC are welcome.
TCT are proud to have partnered with Dunlop for the 2019 campaign.
For the championship’s inaugural season, it will feature 10 rounds across five of the UK's top motorsport circuits and has already attracted interest from a number of high profile BTCC teams and drivers including Team Dynamics, who have entered Henry Neal, son of BTCC driver Matt Neal, into the TCT for 2019.
