The Sports Racing Car Club (SRCC) Sports 2000 makes its debut with MSVR in 2020. One of the fastest UK sports car series the series gives racers the chance to compete at some of UK and Europe's finest circuits at a fraction of the cost of other comparative series.
The race series that has been running since 1977, is a restricted-rules class of mid-engined, open-cockpit, full bodied sports prototype cars. The clubs ethos is to run a series that makes the whole experience fun, fair and safe for all competitors whatever your level of competitiveness.
SRCC runs four championships: Duratec, Pinto, Historic and Mini Enduro -
Sports 2000 Duratec with its modern engine packs a 200bhp punch, enough to give lap times far quicker than machinery twice the power and twice the cost. It can do this thanks to a standard off the shelf engine giving 100% reliability and a genuine race engineered chassis.
Sports 2000 Pinto, a truly classic formula. From its birth in 1977, the Pinto engine and the regulations surrounding the power plant has fundamentally not changed. This has given tremendous stability to the S2 Pinto formula as well as ensuring longevity for the cars and minimal running costs, keeping true to initial creation ethos of affordable sports racing for the club racer.
Sports 2000 Historic Pinto championship is a dedicated series for Sports 2000 cars built between 1976 and the end of 1982. It captures the spirit of the past and the cars remain true to the period. Eligibility is based on an approved Sports 2000 log book and governed by the Sports 2000 technical regulations.
The Mini Enduro series features races of 50 minutes with a combined grid of Duratec, Pinto and Historic Pinto cars. The compulsory pit stop presents the opportunity for a driver change.
