The Radical SR1 Cup is the UK's fastest and most exciting club racing championship which makes racing prototype style sportscars more accessible than ever before.
Now in its seventh season, off the back of six fantastic years of racing. Drivers of all backgrounds have taken advantage of the detailed on-track tuition and support offered by Radical Sportscars throughout the last six seasons. Such has been the rapid growth of this first step on to the Radical racing ladder, once again 2019 is building up to be a fantastic year.
Fully built and ready to go, the SR1 was substantially revised in 2017 with dramatic new styling, improved aerodynamics and updated electronics – you can’t go faster and have more fun for less.
The SR1 Cup begins with the race licence procedure (for those who need it), followed by two instructor-assisted trackdays. The 12 round 6 race championship will be held at Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Silverstone National, Snetterton 300, Donington Park and Snetterton 300. The qualifying session and two races will take place on the same day to keep travel expenses to a minimum.
Experienced Radical staff and technicians are on-hand to explain everything that happens during a race weekend, from signing-on to taking the chequered flag, along with circuit driving theory, circuit driving techniques and how to prepare yourself for what lies ahead.
Radical also details everything you need to know about preparing the car. The SR1 has been designed to be both easy and inexpensive to maintain and Radical’s works team engineers will explain just how to do it.
Drivers compete for prizes in the overall championship, Rookie Cup and Fangio Trophy.
