GT Cup, part of MotorSport Vision Racing's extensive portfolio of championships and series, kicks off for 2021 at Donington Park this weekend (10/11 April), with a record-breaking grid of 38 cars - the championship's biggest ever entry at the East Midlands circuit.
No fewer than 11 manufacturers will be represented on the Bute Motorsport operated championship's grid this weekend, across a range of classes: GTO, GT3, GTC, GTB, GTH and GTA. The enormous entry for this weekend is a significant boost for the MSVR GT championship, as the motorsport industry aims to bounce back from the challenges of 2020.
The championship's track time remains the same for this season, with 15-minute practice and qualifying sessions, ahead of a 25-minute race and 50-minute race. The format will be repeated on both days this weekend for four races in total.
This weekend's entry list features a wealth of racing talent, including motorsport starts with international pedigree. Amongst those are perennial British GT frontrunner Phil Keen, former BTCC star and international GT star Darren Turner and Abbie Eaton - well known for her appearances on The Grand Tour as well as success in professional motorsport.
Sadly, the venue remains closed to spectators this weekend. So please do not travel to the circuit. You will however be able to follow all of the GT Cup action with live streams available at on its Facebook and YouTube channels.
