MSVR’s rescheduled event at Donington Park last weekend (5 December) brought the club’s 2020 motorsport season to a close, and we would like to say a massive thank you to each and every one of our marshals, officials, and other volunteers for your unwavering support and hard work this year.
2020 unearthed some tremendous challenges, which no one could have foreseen, but thanks to your commitment we successfully delivered 27 race meetings across just 18 weekends at six different venues (including both a 12 hour endurance and an FIA international meeting within the first month of restarting) with some of the biggest grids in the club’s history. Given the outlook in the spring, that is something we can rightly be proud of, and we simply could not have done it without you. Unfortunately, it simply wasn't possible to reschedule all of the events lost in the first part of the year, but we look forward to the return of events like GT World Challenge Europe, American SpeedFest, the Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche and, fingers crossed, the FIA Formula E World Championship in London, next year.
Huge congratulations must go to all of MSVR's champions this season; a compact season made for very intense campaigns and everyone should be proud of their achievements. Thank you also to all of our series/championship organisers and competitors for your flexibility, meaning we were able to enjoy such strong grids, and for your cooperation in adapting to the many new systems and procedures that had to be adopted.
The final pieces of the club’s provisional 2021 calendar are falling into place now, and it will be available on the website shortly.
Finally, our very best wishes for the winter break - stay safe and keep well. Have a great Christmas and a very happy New Year, and we look forward to catching up with you in 2021.
