The Stand 21 MSVR Challenge will continue in 2017 for its second season, pitting competitors from almost all of MSVR’s series and championships against each other. In the season-long battle, individual victories and consistent points finishes are key to success.
Last year’s contest was won by Stuart Waite (Toyo Tires Racing Saloons) who overcame the consistent Matt Swaffer (Toyo Tires Production BMW Championship), and the lightning-quick Jordan Witt (GT Cup). Seven different series were represented in the top ten, so overall competition was fierce.
Hundreds of competitors were included in last year’s challenge and 2017 will be even bigger with a brace of new MSVR series, including the Henderson Insurance Brokers LMP3 Cup Championship, SsangYong Racing Challenge, Milltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup and Z Cars Racing all eligible to compete.
David Scott, MSVR says:
“I’m delighted that our partnership with Stand 21 is continuing in 2017 and hope that it provides a degree of competiveness across the range of MSVR championships & series. Stand 21 offer a fantastic range of products to racers and the prizes that the Stand 21 Challenge offer add a little something extra to the MSVR family of competitors.”
Stand 21 MSVR Challenge
The Stand 21/MSVR partnership will continue into its second season after a successful year in 2016. The partnership will offer the club’s racers – across all levels – the chance to benefit from Stand 21’s exceptional products and service. A comprehensive prize package is on offer, with the overall ‘champion’ winning a made-to-measure race suit worth £1800.
Drivers in the majority of domestic MSVR administered series/championships are automatically entered into the competition at no cost. Points are awarded using a complex formula taking into account finishing position, grid size and number of races over the year, which has been developed so that drivers from the full breadth of the club’s series/championships can compete against each other in a fair way.
The current standings will be updated on the MSVR website after each event weekend. The winner will be formally announced on 29 October at MSVR’s final event weekend of 2017.
