The MSVT Trackday Trophy takes on a new look for 2016 with the introduction of two new classes; Trackday Trophy Hot Hatch and Novice Open!
Running alongside the existing Trackday Trophy class structure, the Hot Hatch and Novice Open classes offer two exciting new options for drivers and teams looking new challenges or taking that first step into competitive motorsport:
- Trackday Trophy Hot Hatch caters for production and production based hatchbacks up to a maximum of 175bhp/ton. The aim, to offer owners of eligible hatchbacks the perfect platform to compete with cars of a similar ‘spec’ over longer 45 minute races.
- Novice Open keeps the novice driver requirement that was previously applied to every power to weight class and instead applies to a wider and more accessible ‘open’ class. Cars will need to conform to the 175bhp/ton limit and at least one driver must have competed in less than six races.
Accompanying the new classes are a number of changes to the 2016 technical regulations. For the first time since its debut in 2010 and with the exception of the new ‘Novice Open’, you will no longer require a novice driver in order to take part in the Trackday Trophy.
