MSVR’s 2016 season kicks off tomorrow (Saturday 19 March) at Snetterton with the traditional Season Starter event, featuring a Lotus triple-header, Monoposto single-seater racing, and an eclectic MSVR All-Comers race.
There will be three categories in action from the iconic Lotus marquee, which return to their spiritual Norfolk home this weekend. This will include a shared grid for the Lotus Cup and Elise Trophy, two of the most fiercely contested single-make racing series in the UK. The grid will be packed with race-going examples of these lightweight track specials and they should be great fun to watch as the drivers set them up for the 200 circuit's long straights though the fast corners.
Variety will be added by the third Lotus class on the programme, the Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship, which pits drivers against the clock rather than each other in a short, sharp dash.
Single-seater racing will be added by the Mono 200 which offers club racing in the Grand Prix style. A wide variety of open-wheel machines will be in action, ranging from entry level Formula Ford and Formula Jedi cars, to more advanced machines with F1-influenced aerodynamics.
The line-up will be completed by the MSVR All-Comers, which is open to any closed wheel sports racing car, so there will be a wide variety of different machines in action.
The paddock will be open throughout the event allowing visitors to meet the teams and drivers and spectators can enjoy unparalleled views of the action from the venue's raised spectator banks.
