2016 marks MSVR's tenth anniversary, and this landmark season will get underway this week with the annual MSVR Media Day (Tuesday 16th February) at Brands Hatch. Each of the club’s championships and series will be represented on circuit, and public admission for the day is free for fans to get an early glimpse of the cars.
The Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship and the F3 Cup Championship will both have a healthy presence, with the former showcasing its new Tatuus Cosworth car. F3 Cup will be well represented as it enters a new era with a fresh new class for 2016. There'll be plenty more single seater action on circuit from the Monoposto Racing Club (unveiling their new sponsor JM Technical Group) and the Formula Ford 1600 SuperSeries and Champion of Brands series.
Radical Sportscars will be out in force, with the new RXC Spyder Turbo out on track ahead of its debut in the Radical European Masters, joined by the SR3 RSX and the impressive little Radical SR1.
After another record-breaking year in 2015, GT Cup's much-anticipated grid for 2016 will provide more exotic GT machinery, and maybe even a special guest or two.
A variety of Lotus cars will be in action, with the Lotus Elise Trophy and Lotus Cup championships represented. The cars are expected to include the Exige V6 Cup R and Elise, amongst others.
MSVR's tin-top championships and series have some big grids to call on for attendees. Power Maxed MINI Challenge will have their latest third generation F56 race cars on track alongside the previous generation JCW and Cooper Class cars, with the new Open class represented by the still popular R53 Cooper S.
The Toyo Tires Production BMW Championship and the Toyo Tires Racing Saloons series will have a healthy display of predominantly BMW machinery, adding to the Bavarian marque’s presence. This will include the brand new "Production BMW New Generation" car, the BMW 1 Series.
The MaximumGroup.net VAG Trophy re-launched under new ownership in 2015 and all but reinvented itself last year. Championship Promoter Stewart Lines and Team HARD boss Tony Gilham will both share their plans for the new season.
There will be a handful of MSVT's assortment of saloons from both Trackday Trophy and the brand new MSVT Trackday Championship on circuit during the day, and of course the unique Atom Cup cars will be taking to the Kent circuit.
After joining the MSVR fold during 2015, the Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship will be in attendance, with Championship Coordinator Darren Spann revealing more about their plans for 2016/17.
Of course, a large part of MSVR's remit is event organisation as well as race organisation, and to that end MSV's Motorsport Events Manager David Willey will be discussing exciting developments in the existing festival line-up, as well as announcing a brand new event for the summer of 2016!
Cars will be on circuit from approximately 11:30 until 17:00 on Tuesday 16th February.
Don’t forget to Like MSVR on Facebook and follow @MSVRacing to see some behind the scenes photos from the media day. A 2016 season preview, produced by Race Television, will be broadcast at on Saturday 5th March on Motors TV (time TBC).
