The Aston Martin Owners Club celebrates its 80th anniversary at Brands Hatch this weekend (5-6 September) with Saturday's programme on the legendary Grand Prix circuit, before the action reverts to the compact Indy circuit on Sunday.
A wide variety of machines will star, ranging from 1950s sports-racing cars in the AMOC '50s Sports Cars series, to state-of-the-art modern GT machines in the Aston Martin GT4/V8 Vantage Cup.
The 1950s sports cars will compete for the Jack Fairman Cup, named in honour of the man who shared driving duties with Stirling Moss at the Nurburgring 1000km and Tourist Trophy. These races are likely to be amongst the highlights of the weekend, with beautiful machines from Cooper, Jaguar, and Lister expected to appear, in addition to the Aston Martins.
The newest cars will appear in the Aston Martin GT4/V8 Vantage Cup, which is open to GT cars running in similar specification to those raced in the British GT Championship.
Other highlights will include the Pre-War Team Challenge, which recalls a pioneering period of British motor manufacturing, with glorious brutes from Aston Martin and Bentley expected to be the stars of the show. This race starts from a handicap start, with the fastest cars starting last, and chasing down the slower entries. Keep an eye out for a close finish!
The paddock will be open, allowing spectators to take a closer look at these stunning cars as they're prepared for battle.
