Competitors racing cars formerly eligible for Formula Renault series are invited to enter the opening round of this year’s MSVR-administered Monoposto Championship, with an extra grid made available for the Mono 2000 class, for which these cars are eligible.
With a huge number of cars already entered for the thriving Monoposto championship, organisers have taken the decision to open a third grid at Cadwell Park on 18/19 April. The Mono 2000 class will run as a stand-alone race on the same bill as the existing two Monoposto grids, which are already almost full.
Monoposto Sporting Services Manager Steven Connor said: “With two full grids forecast for the Monoposto Championship season opener at Cadwell Park, the club is delighted to have worked with MSVR to secure the option of a possible third grid if there is an influx of additional Formula Renault cars, that are eligible to race in our established Mono 2000 class. Should sufficient car owners vote with their feet and come to Cadwell, then I am sure there will be further opportunities like this later in the season.”
MSVR Race Operations Manager David Scott commented: “There are a considerable number of ex-Formula Renault series cars out there that are currently unable to race in a stand-alone series, so in association with the Monoposto Racing Club we would like to invite their owners and drivers to put on a show at Cadwell Park. They will be very welcome in the Monoposto paddock, which remains the UK's best-subscribed single seater championship.
