Cadwell Park is gearing up for a packed MSVR raceday this
Saturday (28 June) with tin-tops and sports cars both set to
One of the nation's favourite track cars will star in the Atom
Cup, a one-make series for race-prepared examples of Ariel's
lightweight speed machine. Last time out there was little to choose
between Nick Whitehead and Andrew Smith, who shared the spoils,
with Paul Donkin always in hot pursuit, and that close battle is
expected to resume on The Mountain this weekend.
Volkswagen cars will account for two of the grids, with the
Dunlop VAG Trophy and Dunlop Mk2 Golf GTi Championship both in
action. Dan Rose currently leads the Dunlop VAG Trophy
standings in his Seat Leon, as that category is open to all
machines in the Volkswagen Audi Group, whilst Jason Tingle heads
Jamie Martin in a closely fought Dunlop Mk2 Golf GTi battle.
Further German touring car action will be provided by the Toyo Tire
Production BMW Championship, which frequently features bumper grids
of iconic E30-series BMWs.
Added diversity will come from the Toyo Tires Racing Saloons and
MSVT Trackday Trophy, which both attract eclectic entries,
featuring cars of varying shape, size and age.
The evocative Morgan marque will also appear on track this
weekend in the Aero Racing Challenge, in which a number of V8 and
V6 Roadsters will take to the circuit.
The paddock will be open, offering spectators a chance to get a
closer look at the cars in race preparation as well as meet the
teams and drivers.
