Following a fantastic year of full grids, great racing and big
names in 2013, GT Cup is set to continue its upward momentum with
the announcement of its 2014 calendar. The highlight of the
seven-event, 20-race season will be at Brands Hatch, where the
championship will be sharing the paddock with the Blancpain GT
Sprint Series, formerly the FIA GT Series, to provide a feast for
supercar fans on the Grand Prix circuit.
Each 2014 race weekend is a triple header with three races
across the two day meetings, with the exception of the championship
finale at Oulton Park which will conclude the season with two races
on Saturday 25 October. Jeff Wyatt stole the crown from Alex
Martin's grasp at the final event of 2013, hinting at an unmissable
trip to Cheshire in October.
As in 2013, the season kicks off at Donington Park National on
the final weekend of April (26/27) before the championship links up
with the Blancpain GT Sprint Series at Brands Hatch in May
The first of two trips to Silverstone follows in June (7/8) on
the shorter International circuit ahead of a summer visit to
Snetterton in July (19/20). The return to Silverstone to take on
the GP circuit follows in August (16/17) before doing likewise at
Donington Park in September (20/21). The Oulton Park conclusion
takes place on Saturday 25 October.
