30/12/12 - Reigning 750 Motor Club Formula 4 champion Robbie
Watts has revealed he is focussing all of his efforts on an assault
for the 2013 F3 Cup title.
The experienced single seater racer made sporadic appearances in
the championship during 2012 while also contesting the Monoposto
Championship and the 750MC Formula 4 Championship. After romping to
the F4 title last season, he is now setting his sights of a new
challenge by competing in a full season of F3 Cup in 2013.
The Essex-born racer made his F3 Cup debut in 2011 before
purchasing a 2006 Dallara which he raced at Spa, Brands Hatch GP
and Snetterton 300 in 2012. The 45-year-old thoroughly enjoyed his
F3 Cup outings, which he fitted in around he F3 commitments, and is
now eager to challenge for the 2013 F3 Cup title.
Watts said: "We are going to concentrate on F3 Cup in 2013 with
the same determination we have contested F4 in the last three
years. We have had an extremely busy couple of years contesting
three championships in three different cars and it will be a little
bit of a relief to concentrate on one car."
Preparations at his Raw Motorsport team are well under way and
Watts' F3 Cup Dallara is due to be ready in early January.
