18/07/2012 - Cadwell Park hosts a day of racing from MSVR this
Sunday (22 July), featuring the novice racers of the Club MSV
Trackday and Team Trophy series, plus the Ginetta GT5 Challenge
The third season of the Club MSV Trackday Trophy continues at
Cadwell Park. The series has introduced well over 100 drivers to
racing and round three takes place at a circuit that is a favourite
amongst the trackday crowd.
A wide variety of cars can be found amongst the clases, from
trackday specials to out-and-out racers. Look out for Dzenis and
Welsh in Class B, as the pair have won both rounds so far at Brands
Hatch and Silverstone.
Meanwhile the Team Trophy series takes racing onto the next
stage, with graduates from the Trackday Trophy honing their skills
further. In the fifth round of the 2012 season, several drivers
have taken multiple class wins: Darbey and Stenhouse in Class A,
Burnett and Burnett in Class B, McHugh/McHugh in Class C and Bird
and Platt in Class D. These four are certainly the teams to beat in
the mini endurance race that, like the Trackday Trophy, features
pitstops for driver changes.
Also appearing alongside the Club MSV series is the Ginetta GT5
Challenge for G20 and G40 models. Matthew Flowers leads the former
for open top sportscars, by 32 points from Brian Murphy. The newer
G40 cars, that also race in the BTCC-supporting Ginetta Junior
Championship, features a battle between Sean Huyton and Mike
Robinson. Just 19 points separates this pair as the drivers head to
