30/06/2011 - The SPEED EuroSeries title race is delicately
poised as the championship heads to Italy's famous Imola circuit
this weekend for round four of the season.
The popular prototype sports car series arrives in Italy with
only four points separating championship leader Dean Stirling and
the Xero Competition car of Warren Hughes and Jody Firth. To add a
little spice to this weekend's meeting, title contender Stirling
has switched teams.
Stirling, who recorded two podium finishes last time out at
Donington Park, has decided to leave current manufacturer
championship leaders If Motorsport Ligier in favour of a move to
the Wolf team, to help the Italian team's manufacturer title push.
Wolf will enter six cars into both races around the 3-mile
After two impressive victories at Donington Park, Hughes and
Firth will be eager to continue their run of form and climb to the
top of the standings. The Yorkishire based Xero Competition team
will once again enter a second car for Tom Bradshaw and Ben
