09/06/02011 - Ben Winrow continues to be the man to beat in the
Production BMW Championship after recording a double victory at a
rain soaked Brands Hatch.
Despite heavy rain making racing conditions extremely
challenging, Winrow converted his pole position into a convincing
race win, finishing almost seven seconds in front of Tim Wilson.
Liam Crilly had held second spot for the majority of the race, but
he was passed by Wilson and James McIntyre on the final lap.
Winrow completed a perfect weekend after recording his second
victory of the afternoon in race two. He finished eight seconds
clear of Liam Crilly and Alan Wileman secured the final place on
the podium. Championship leader Mike Tovey came home in fifth
He said: "The conditions could be worse but once you get a
handle on track conditions it is ok. I love the wet weather its
brilliant. We always try our best but we always seem to have a good
run of results when we do the races."
While Winrow took the top honours, Tim Wilson now leads the
championship by four points from Mike Tovey with Winrow in
The Production BMW Championship heads to Cheshire's Oulton Park
for tyh next round on July 2.
