25/06/2011 - Andy McLennan's win in the second Nippon Challenge
race brought an end to the first day of the MSVR organised Lotus
Festival at Snetterton. Follow the action from day one as it
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 18:35: Nippon Challenge: Andy
McLennan returned to the top step of the podium following a triumph
in the final NIppon Challenge race of the weekend.
Yaser Almaghrbi lead the early stages of the race before contact
with Danny Casser at Brundle corner allowed McLennan, driving his
Suzuki Swift, to take the lead. McLennan built a comfortable lead
and crossed the finish line 3.6 seconds in front of Anthony Allit
to clinch his second win of the weekend.
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 18:15: GT Cup Championship: The
Ferrari 430 of Gary Eastwood proved to be the quickest in
qualifying, as he claimed pole position for tomorrow's race.
Eastwood was joined on the front row by another Ferrari of David
Tomlin, who was 0.272 seconds adrift of the benchmark time. Brands
Hatch race winner Danny Winstanley will line up in third position
alongside championship leader Andy Ruhan. Tom Andrew was the
fastest Group 2 runner and Andy Yool was the quickest of the Group
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 18:10: Radical Clubman's Cup:
Aspiring single seater racer Alice Powell secured a double win in
the Radical Clubman's Cup after coming through an eventful second
After taking victory in the opening race this afternoon, Powell
had the luxury of starting from pole position. She made a strong
start to the race but a start line incident forced the race to be
However, once racing resumed Powell never looked back and she
enjoyed a relatively comfortable drive to the chequered flag.
Frederik Moberg finished second and championship challenger James
Abbott inherited third place, after Nick Pantelli was given a 10
second penalty for failure to obey yellow flags.
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 16:15: Lotus Cup UK: Former Lotus
Formula One driver Martin Donnelly grabbed pole position for
tomorrow's Lotus Cup UK race.
Donnelly, sharing a brand new Lotus Evora GT4 with Gavan
Kershaw, were the class of the Lotus Cup UK field, setting the
fastest time by 0.433 seconds from Mark Fullalove. The Lotus 340R
of David Harvey and single seater star Oliver Webb was third
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 15:33: Nippon Challenge: The Suzuki
Swift of Andy McLennan came through a titanic battle with Danny
Cassar to clinch victory in the first Nippon Challenge race.
A lightning quick start from Adrian Howells saw the Subaru
driver grab the lead off the line, leaving the front row of Cassar
and McLennan standing. However, the top end speed of the Proton
Satria of Cassar and McLennan's Suzuki soon passed Howells. The
race quickly evolved into a two horse race between the pair with
positions swapping on several occassions.
But midway through the race McLennan grabbed the lead and he
stayed there to record a deserved victory. Cassar finished second
with the Subaru of Howells in third.
Cassar and McLennan won the GT250 class and Super GT
respectively, while Richard Hockley claimed the top honours in
GT200. Anthony Allit won the GT300 class, Adrian Howells triumphed
in the Subaru Cup category and Jason Jesse secured the GT150 class
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 14:47: Lotus on Track Elise Trophy:
Ken Savage will start tomorrow's Lotus on Track Elise Trophy race
from pole position.
Savage, who won both Elise Trophy races at the Snetterton 300
circuit earlier this year, secured pole position in qualifying,
with a time just 0.484 seconds faster than Luigi Mazza. Steve
Quick, held second spot right until the death, but Mazza's time
demoted him to third on the grid, alongside Mike Vase. Double race
winner from Zandvoort, Craig Denman will start from eighth on the
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 14:30: Lotus on Track Elise Trophy:
The Lotus cars head out for qualifying with the track dry but
clouds looming overhead.
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 13:10: Radical Clubman's Cup Race
One: Alice Powell converted her pole position into a race victory
with an impressive drive around the Snetterton 300 circuit.
The Formula Renault race winner reacted quickest to the lights
and held the lead into the first corner. Powell held her nerve
despite sustained pressure from Frederik Moberg in the early
stages, to take the chequered flag.
Moberg made a good getaway from the start and found himself in
third position at the end of the opening lap, after passing Nick
Pantelli and David Jacobs. He moved up to second on the following
lap and managed to claw Powell's lead back to just eight tenths of
a second. But the Swede couldn't maintain his charge and had to
settle for second, finishing ahead of Darron Anley in third.
Fellow Swede David Soderlund produced arguably the drive of the
race, as he surged through the field to finish fourth, after
starting from 24th on the grid. Championship leader Mark Boot came
home in 12th, one place behind his title rival James Abbott.
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 11:45: Nippon Challenge: Danny
Cassar, driving a Proton Coupe, secured pole position for the first
Nippon Challenge race of the weekend.
The Barking racer destroyed the field in damp conditions setting
a time 1.705 seconds faster than second placed Andy McLennan's
Suzuki Swift. Yaser Almaghrbi will line up on row two in third,
alongside Adrain Howells' Subaru Imprezza.

Radical guest driver Alice Powell has claimed pole position for
this afternoon's race. The Formula Renault race winner was 0.033
seconds quicker than David Jacobs and Darron Anley.

track action is under way for the weekend, with the Radical sports
cars on circuit for Radical Clubman's Cup qualifying.
25/06/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 9:45:Lotus Festival: Welcome to
Snetterton for the third running of the Lotus Festival. This
weekend the Norfolk venue will be celebrating all things Lotus.
There will also be Formula One demonstrations and a superb line up
of close racing provided by four of MSVR's championships/series.
The Toyota MR2 Racing Series and Nippon Challenge are also on a
packed racing schedule.
MSVR's Lotus Cup UK, Lotus on Track Elise Trophy, GT Cup
Championship, Radical Clubman's Cup, are all on the bill to
entertain this weekend. There will also be demonstrations from
classic Lotus Formula machinery, including Jim Clark's Lotus 25 and
Martin Donnelly's iconic Camel Lotus. For live updates for each
