13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 18:44 - Radical UK Cup: The Radical
SR8 of Abbott and Green and the SR3 of Woodward and Kaiser claimed
the pole positions for the tomorrow's two Radical UK Cup races, in
the final session of Saturday.
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 18:10 - GT Cup Championship: The
Chevron of Jordan Witt came through an incredibly tight qualifying
session to claim the all important pole position.
The session proved to be one the of the closest fought of the
season and with all 29 cars taking to the track, traffic became a
factor. But it was Witt, who produced the best lap to snatch pole
position, which was less than a tenth of a second faster than the
Morgan of Tom Andrew. The Whales' Porsche 997 was third fastest
with Gary Eastwood fourth quickest.
The top 10 cars were covered by little over a second, which
should produce an interesting battle for the top honours tomorrow.
The first GT Cup Championship race begins at 10:35am.
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 17:25 - Lotus on Track Elise Trophy:
Andy Dolan came through a reverse grid start to record an
impressive double win - his third victory from as many races.
The Scotsman made a lightening getaway from the start from fifth
on the grid and he found himself in second position at Redgate,
behind leader Ken Savage. However, a mistake from Savage at the
Craner Curves allowed Dolan into the lead, where he stayed until
the chequered flag.
While Dolan enjoyed a relatively easy run to claim victory, the
battle for the remaining podium positions was intense. Chris
Dunster and Craig Denman were involved in a titanic scrap for
second early on, swapping places on countless occassions.
Luigi Mazza was close behind in fourth and a succession of
fastest laps brought him into contention and he soon found a way
passed both Dunster and Denman into second spot. The Snetterton 300
double winner began to reel in the leader, but his charge was
halted by a mistake at Coppice. Dolan went on to finish first ahead
of Mazza and Steve Quick claimed the final podium position in
Trooper Martyn Copleston, who was swapping his armed forces tank
for a Lotus Elise, finished both races his forst of his career in
20th and 21st position.
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 16:50 - Radical Clubman's Cup:
Radical Works driver James Abbott significantly increased his title
hopes by recording a double win at the MSVR Donington Weekend.
With championship leader Mark Boot unable to start the race due
to mechanical difficulties, Abbott was presented with a perfect
chance to make in roads in to his points lead. Abbott made the most
of the opportunity and he held the lead from the start.
The Radical Works driver proved to be uncatchable as he went on
to take the chequered flag finishing ahead of Mark Abbott and Tony
Wells. The Radical Clubman's Cup returns on 10-11 September at the
MSVR Races of Wales at Anglessey.
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 15:50 - Club MSV Trackday Trophy:
The Renault Clio Cup car of John Hamilton came through to take
victory in the latest round of the Club MSV Trackday Trophy.
The early exchanges of the 45 minute encounter was dominated by
a battle for the lead involving James Britton's BMW and George
Wright and Major James Cameron's Porsche 993. The pair diced for
the lead until the pit window opened. Hamilton was a watching brief
behind in third, but it was the Renault driver, who emreged in the
lead after the field completed their madatory pit stops.
Class A runner Hamilton maintained his advantage to the
chequered flag finishing ahead of Class B's Britton in second and
the Wright/Cameron car in third despite a drive through penalty
late on. Class C was won by the McHugh's and the HG Motorsport car
of Ashley Bird and Edward Platt claimed the honours in Class D.
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 15:00 - MINI Challenge: The MINI
Challenge title race took another interesting twist after Luke
Caudle secured victory in the first of three races at the MSVR
Knox reacted best to the lights and he lead the field into
Redgate for the first time. The pack emerged from the first lap
unscathed but Caudle was harrying Knox for the lead. The Oulton
Park race winner's pressure took its toll on the leader as he
snatched the lead on the second lap.
Caudle steadily increased his lead lap on lap while Stewart
Lines found his way into second after producing a successful move
on Knox. Championship leader Lee Allen moved up to fourth after
starting from sixth on the grid.
The race leader never looked back as he cotinued to reel off a
string of impressive lap times to secure the victory. Lines crossed
the finish line in second with Knox third, Allen fourth, Sam
Osborne fifth and Jason Richardson in sixth.
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 14:15 - Lotus on Track Elise Trophy:
Andy Dolan followed up his maiden victory at Brands Hatch last time
out with another win at the MSVR Donington Weekend.
Stuart Rowland showed the pace which secured him pole position,
as he swept into a comfortable lead from the start. He was followed
by 2011 front runner Mazza but his second place was snatched by
Andy Dolan in the opening laps. Mazza slipped further down the
field when he was passed by Steve Quick at the chicane. The
Londoner regained the spot a lap later, but positions altered again
with the introduction of Craig Denman into the battle for
While Rowland was beaing chased hard by Dolan at the front,
Denman inherited third palce when Mazza and Quick made contact at
Redgate. Quick subsequently retired from the race following the
incident, but Mazza continued in fourth spot.
With just a handful of laps remaining, Rowland lost his lead as
Dolan piled the pressure on before slipping into the lead at the
chicane on the penultimate lap. The Scotsman, who won at Brands
Hatch, made no mistakes in the final lap to eventually claim the
win from Rowland and Denman with Mazza in fourth.
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 13:45 - Radical Clubman's Cup: James
Abbott closed the gap in the Radical Clubman's Cup title race after
coming through dramatic opening race of the MSVR Donington
Pole sitter James Abbott was unable to maintain the lead at the
start as Martn Brooks shot to the front of the field with an
impressive getaway. Abbott slotted into third spot behind the fast
starting championship leader Mark Boot.
Brooks soon established a three second lead while the battle for
second spot was heated, involving Abbott, Tony Wells, Darron Anley
and Mark Abbott. James Abbott soon found a way passed Boot to grab
second and he then set his sights on chasing down Brooks.
By lap 15, Abbott's pressure seemed to be working as he cut
Brooks' lead to half a second and he could sense victory. On the
penultimate lap the complexion of the race changed dramtically, as
a spin from Brooks at Mcleans gave Abbott the lead. Tony Wells
moved into second with the recovering Brooks in third.
Abbott held his nerve at the front to take the chequered flag
from Wells and Mark Abbott. Championship leader Boot finished
fourth and a mistake from Brooks saw him vacate third and come home
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 12:25 - MINI Challenge: The MINI
Challenge is set for an entertaining first race with championship
contenders Chris Knox and Luke Caudle split by 0.147 seconds.
Knox will start from pole position from Caudle after setting a
benchmark time of 1.19.366 seconds. The pair are ahead of Sam
Osborne in third and Stewart Lines in fourth. Jason Richardson and
championship leader Lee Allen were fifth and sixth respectively.
The first MINI Challenge race will begin at 14.30pm.

Brands Hatch winner James Britton was the class of the field as he
lapped the Donington Park circuit nearly two seconds faster then
his nearest rival.
The Porsche of Major James Cameron was second fastest in the
hands of George Wright and John Hamilton was marginally slower in
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 10:45 - Radical Clubman's Cup:
Championship contender James Abbott claimed pole by 0.227s from
Martin Brooks in Saturday's qualifying session.
Abbot's main championship rival Mark Boot enjoyed a successful
qualifying and he will line up directly behind him in fourth
position. Tony Wells was third fastest and Brands Hatch winner
Darron Anley could only manage seventh spot on the grid.
13/08/2011 - LATEST NEWS at 09:40 - Lotus on Track Elise Trophy:
Stuart Rowland proved to be the man to beat around Donington Park
as he claimed pole position for this afternoon's first race.
Rowland was just 0.251s quicker than multpile race winner Luigi
Mazza with Steve Quick behind in third. Joining Quick on the second
row is Ben Hyland and Craig Denman rounded out the top five.
Afghanistan hero Trooper Martyn Copleston, competing in his first
ever race, came through qualifying unscathed and will start from

of a packed schedule of racing.

head to the fast and flowing Donington Park this weekend 13/14
August for a meeting of thrilling on track action. The battle for
the title in the GT Cup Championship, MINI Challenge and Radical UK
Cup will headline the event with all three championships delicately
poised going into the final quarter of the season.
