American SpeedFest was launched in 2013 to great acclaim. Fusing American-oriented motoring and motorsport with music, food and entertainment, the event was a huge hit with spectators and families in particular. The world-famous Brands Hatch is the perfect host venue - its natural amphitheatre offers unrivalled views of all the action, and its facilities are second to none. And it has great road links too, being just 5 minutes from junction 3 of the M25.
As ever, Brands Hatch was transformed into a scene from Daytona Beach for the 2019 event, with a stunning selection of American muscle cars filling the venue in massive car displays. Many of these even took to the circuit for an end of day parade, whilst another parade earlier in the day celebrated the 55th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang.
Other off-track highlights included appearances from iconic movie cars such as Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters films, as well as machines from the Transformers movies. The Live Action Arena was a real hub of entertainment too, with stunt shows including the incredible Swamp Thing monster truck.
There was plenty of thrilling entertainment on track, Frederic Gabillon claimed the spoils in the showpiece Elite 1 NWES race amidst the heat of the afternoon, holding off a spirited challenge from Stienes Longin to secure his place in Victory Lane. Saturday winner Alon Day came home third to secure the 'King of Brands' crown once more, ahead of Alexander Graff and three-time series champion Ander Vilarino.
SpeedFest was scheduled to return on 6/7 June 2020, however the event has unfortunately been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic - for more information please visit the official website here.
