To quell any further speculation, MSVR wish to confirm their intention to continue the development and expansion of the ‘600’ GP2 prototype class.
Using the experience gained in 2018 and 2019 a slightly revised set of technical regulations have been prepared and approved by the MCRCB for the 2020 season with validity for at least two years after that. The aim of this technical regulations update is to provide some stability to the class, to clarify the engines and chassis allowed to take part, and to improve the equalisation of the on track performance of the various designs.
The only changes we foresee making are those required to further fine tune the ‘on track’ performance of the various engine types.
We will of course continue to monitor the global situation with regards to international categories and the effect on hardware availability and supply.
