It is with huge sadness that MotorSport Vision Racing confirms that Jeff Leadley passed away this morning, Tuesday 11 May 2010, following his accident at Thruxton circuit on Saturday 8 May.
The heart felt sympathy and thoughts of Race Operations Manager David Scott and all the MSVR team are very much with Jeff's wife Rachel, his family and race team FF Corse at this tragic time.
Jeff was a front running competitor in the GT Cup Championship and had been with the series from its first full year in 2008. Jeff was enormously well liked and highly regarded by all those who knew him and competed with him. Jeff will be sorely missed.
MSVR also extends their sympathy and thoughts to fellow GT Cup competitors and teams, the marshals, medics who attended the accident as well as the team at Bute Motorsport.
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of MotorSport Vision said: "We are all at MSVR desperately sad that Jeff Leadley tragically succumbed to his injuries following his accident at Thruxton. Although I did not know Jeff personally, he was clearly very talented and a leading competitor in the GT Cup, which MSVR values highly as an outstanding sportscar championship. I was in contact with our MSVR team running the event and the chief medical officer soon after the accident and it is clear Jeff had immediate and expert care. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family at this awful time."
