The majestic Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit will reverberate to
the distinctive sounds of the Masters Historic Festival this May
Bank Holiday.
The Masters Festival, organised by MSVR, is a celebration of
vehicles from the golden age of motorsport, which begins on
Saturday with an Indy circuit celebration of saloon and GT cars
from the 1950s-70s. Highlights include a new one-make Mini series,
along with a 'David versus Goliath' battle between 1960s V8-engined
touring cars and retro Imps and Cortinas in the Oldies but Goldies
competition.
On Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, the event moves over to the
Grand Prix circuit for a two-day celebration of Brands Hatch's
halcyon days. Headlining the bill will be the Grand Prix Masters
Series, featuring the actual machinery driven by F1 legends
including James Hunt, Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart. Among the
vehicles competing will be cars from Tyrell, Williams and Arrows,
the 1974 championship-winning McLaren M23 and the iconic Martini
Brabham BT44.
Plus, there will be heart-pounding action from the World Sportscar
Masters, featuring a huge grid of more than 20 powerful
classic supercars.
