Lotus Cup Europe heads to Zandvoort for round 2 of the series. The capacity grid consists of a record number of entries from 211s and Exiges.
Zandvoort will be the first round of the 2009 season where Lotus Cup Europe will be competing on mainland Europe.
A capacity grid of 34 cars will be racing at the Dutch coastal resort, with a record number of 211s (eleven) and Exiges (nine) battling it out.
The Lotus Cup Europe organisers have also confirmed there will be TV coverage from Zandvoort, filmed by Lotus enthusiasts. The coverage is to be shown on Motors TV later in the summer.
Paul Golding, Lotus Cup Europe Series Director, is thrilled with the start to the season. He said: "Obviously the priority for LCE this year was to keep the 12 cars that competed in 2008 but even this early it's looking like this series could grow as quickly as the Elise Trophy did, if we can hold it all together and have a couple more sensible rounds. We've increased our projections and are looking for 30 starters at both Hockenheim and Dijon. We already have a full grid of 64 starters at Spa and will hope to get 40-50 for the final round at Le Mans."
