The MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship starts its
party early this season in Lincolnshire and the countdown has begun
to the first of two visits to Cadwell Park. Fans have to wait just
two weeks for their fix of spectacular airborne antics when BSB
returns on 21/22/23 May.
The circuit is renowned for producing thrilling and unpredictable
races and fans are set to descend in their thousands on the circuit
near Louth for the fourth round of the championship. The incredible
sight of Superbikes lifting off as they crest the daunting Mountain
section of the track is a sight to behold and one certainly not to
be missed.
Tommy Hill currently leads the title charge for the Worx Crescent
Suzuki team and his impressive run of form has seen him finish on
the podium in each of the six races so far this season, but the
pressure is building as his rivals, including Josh Brookes and
Ryuichi Kiyonari from the Louth-based HM Plant Honda team, close
the advantage.
Hill said: "I feel the pressure is definitely on me as it is my
championship lead to lose, but I know that it is also on the other
riders to close the gap and I am the target! I know I need to
remain consistent and not be complacent, as it is a long season and
a fantastic start to the year doesn't guarantee a title. The team
have worked hard to give us the lead and we certainly need to be
back on the podium again at Cadwell Park. It's a tough and
aggressive track but I love it, it is where I took my first ever
BSB race win so I have had some great memories from there but
everyone is going to be pushing so hard that it certainly wont be
easy!"
