Haslam set for final showdown

"Final race winner? It could be anyone," says Haslam!

HM Plant Honda's Leon Haslam knows that he needs to stay ahead of Tom Sykes if he wants to secure second place in the final Bennetts British Superbike Championship standings at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Haslam has been the rider to beat recently, winning five of the last seven races, but with two wins still there for the taking, it is all to play for on Sunday. The 'Pocket Rocket' knows that competition is going to come from all angles this weekend and he is not counting out any of his rivals.

Haslam said: "I've won five out of the last seven races and now I want to make it seven out of nine. I want to the leave the team and the Bennetts British Superbike series on a high and that's the aim. Obviously everyone is out there and are going for it; Cal's got a point to prove coming into the last round, Tom Sykes is strong and Shakey hasn't won a race in 12 races, so the competition is going to be red-hot. I think 30 laps of the short Indy circuit makes for a pretty busy race, so it should be fun."
