Crutchlow had been running second earlier in the season but some bad luck and a few disappointing results have dropped him down the order to fourth. This is something that he is looking to rectify as he is determined to leave BSB in the highest possible position after signing to ride in the World Supersport Championship next season.
Crutchlow said: "I've not given up hope of regaining second place in the Championship. I was in that position for most of this season and I want it back. We're having a great battle with Tom Sykes and Leon for the runner-up slot in the series but in recent rounds I've had a lot of bad luck, so it's possible that my rivals could have the same and I can take advantage. A double win is what I'm aiming for, as I want to really end the season strongly. I enjoy the track and the layout as it's nice and flat and very wide so I think the HM Plant Honda Fireblade could go well there this weekend."
The penultimate round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship takes place at Silverstone this weekend (26/27/28 September). For more information please click here.
