The Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship, in association with MSVR, has unveiled an exciting eight round provisional calendar for its fourth season. The championship will once again feature rounds at seven of the country’s finest racing circuits across the UK including all four of MotorSport Vision’s venues, and also visit two other fantastic UK circuits. This includes rounds in Wales at Anglesey Circuit and in Scotland at Knockhill Circuit, once again making it a truly national championship.
While the calendar remains the same from last year, the Knockhill Stages now becomes a two-day event, encompassing both the Saturday and the Sunday after the success of last year. Subject to MSA approval, the Championship will follow the same format as last year, kick-starting at Oulton Park, before moving onto Cadwell Park. The last round before Christmas will see the championship visit Knockhill, before taking a hiatus over Christmas. The fourth season will kick off at Oulton Park in November before continuing to a spring 2019 finale.
Championship Coordinator Darren Spann commented “We are delighted to have put together such a fantastic provisional calendar. While the calendar remains the same as last year, the introduction of the Knockhill Stages last year proved great and it is fantastic to see this has grown into a two-day event. The feedback from competitors was superb last year and it would be great to see more join us up north again this year.”
Stuart Gray, Knockhill Director of Events said “We are delighted to once again be hosting round 3 of Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship. To be part of the Championship last year was an excellent opportunity and we were delighted with the response from the competitors and media. With the help of Dunfermline Car Club, we are assessing as to how the event can grow into a two-day event and we look forward to welcoming many more competitors to our great race circuit which has hosted rallying legends such as Stig Blomqvist, Hannu Mikkola, Alistair McRae and BTCC stars Gordon Shedden and Aiden Moffat”
MSVR Race Operations Manager David Scott, said “With another great calendar for the 2018/19 season it looks like another bumper year for the Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship. The inclusion of all five MSV-owned circuits around the country, including Donington Park, sets us up for a fantastic championship.
