MotorSport Vision Racing is delighted to announce the formation of a brand new racing series for 2018, Heritage Formula Ford. The series, which will cater for Formula Ford cars made before 1993, has been created by SuperSeries and Champion of Brands organiser, James Beckett, in association with MSVR.
The concept was tested earlier on this year at the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone, another Beckett organised race, where the addition of a Pre-93 class was popular. During 2018, the series will aim to build on the attention it has already received, and going forwards, James Beckett is confident the grid numbers will grow. The series has already attracted the attention of Souley Motorsport, who have pledged to sign up cars to race. Beckett commented, “The time is right, I believe, and there’s a bit of a gap in the market.”
A provisional calendar for 2018 will see four rounds at historic venues including Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Oulton Park, and there is a chance for even more races with double headers at some events. Heritage Formula Ford will replace the current SuperSeries and will run alongside the popular Champion of Brands.
MSVR’s Race Operations Manager David Scott said, “We are very excited to welcome this new series to the MSVR family. We have worked closely with James on both the SuperSeries and the Champion of Brands for many years, and are confident this series will grow quickly with strong grids and close racing”.
More details about the series will be published on the MSVR website soon at www.msvracing.co.uk
