The Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship in association with MSVR is delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Protyre Motorsport, a leading tyre retailer ahead of the 2017-18 season. As part of this brand new partnership, Protyre Motorsport will be installed as the Official Tyre Supplier.
As an official partner, Protyre Motorsport will be on hand to provide all drivers with a range of great tyres and prices at all Championship events. Maintaining a competitive advantage in motorsport is a constant challenge, and this new partnership will allow competitors to access Protyre Motorsport’s Tyre Services, and their range of ultra high-performance tyres at competitive prices, at all eight rounds.
Protyre, Tyre Retailer of the Year 2016, have already been present at events as the official retailer of Michelin Tyres within the Michelin Cup, but this new partnership strengths and develops the ties that have been built between the two over the past two years.
Darren Spann, Championship Co-Ordinator said: “We are delighted to be adding Protyre as a partner to our championship. Their commitment in all weathers to ensure the competitor has the correct tyre for the conditions is unrivalled in British rallying. This innovative partnership will help give the stepping stone for many competitors on a tight budget. 2017-18 certainly looks more exciting than ever.”
As part of the new partnership, a Protyre Challenge will be incorporated into the Championship, it gives those competitors on smaller budgets the chance to compete for honours and win some amazing prizes. Open only to those in Class A, B and C, the Challenge will be split into two four-rounds, with the each winner of the four-round challenge receiving four tarmac competition tyres of their choice from Protyre. At the end of the season, the two challenge totals will then be added together with the overall winner receiving four tarmac competition tyres and an award.
Shawn Chetwyn from Protyre Motorsport said, “We are delighted to be able to add our support to this fantastic championship. Our Protyre Challenge will allow people with smaller budgets to take part in this championship and sample what it has to offer. We will be at each round retailing the latest tyres from all the leading manufacturers, including the fantastic Michelin Tyres.”
The MSN Rally Championship in association with MSVR is committed to growing year-on-year, and introducing new competitors to the sport. This new partnership and incorporating Challenge looks to develop this further, giving competitors a low-cost entry into the sport, and providing cost-effective support. The 2017-18 MSN Rally Championship season kicks off in November, with the Neil Howard Stages at Oulton Park.
