Currently the home of the Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix, and celebrating its 60th year, this former wartime airfield circuit can boast to being one of the world's foremost motorsport venues, with several track configurations. SIlverstone hosted the first ever round of the F1 World Championship in 1948, and over the years has developed to meet the needs of the modern sporting era. Held the British Motorcycle Grand Prix for a decade when it switched to the mainland from the Isle of Man and has staged World Superbike Championship action in recent years in addition to the domestic series.
